So when I sit down and I speak to clients over the phone, there’s always one question that never fails to come up. And that’s how much, how much, how much, how much is it going to cost?

Now there are certain factors that you need to consider prior to coming up with that number in that estimate. And that’s exactly what we’re gonna talk about in today’s video. Let’s dive in.

How much does roof marketing cost?

Now I wanna answer this question right at the very beginning because it is what you came for. And the truth is you cannot know how much it’s going to cost you to advertise online until you do the research, the preliminary research before you dive into the platforms.

And the reason I say this is because there are certain factors that you need to consider which we are going to be talking about in this video. I’m going to share the factors that you need to consider so that you can get a better understanding as to why the cost varies all across the board depending on these factors.

1. Competitiveness of your market

So let’s start with number one, the competitiveness of your market. So depending on how competitive your market is, that is going to drastically affect how much it’s going to cost you to advertise in a particular area.

And let me give you an example. If you are in a state or a province or an area that typically has a lot of storms, generally speaking, it is going to cost you a lot more. Because areas that have a lot of storms, a lot of natural disasters tend to attract a lot of competition.

People from different areas. They tend to gravitate towards a particular area because there’s money to be made. When I say competitive, I’m solely speaking about, you know, different areas that have lots of storms and areas that have unregulated markets and areas that I can think of off the top of my head that fit these criteria is Texas, Colorado. Sometimes a close second would be Oklahoma City.

If you live in any of those States, then it is very likely that you will be paying a lot more for advertising because those markets are very much saturated with any and everyone who can call themselves a roofer. But number one, I can tell you that there’s no place like Texas or Colorado. Those two markets.

It is very expensive to advertise online because of the nature of the areas where there are storms all the time. Hailstorms, you see guys from out of town coming in to try to collect, get their piece of the pie. There are storms all the time in different areas. So those two areas naturally are very, very competitive.

2. Quality of leads

So another factor to consider is the market that you plan on advertising on. Now, generally speaking, the higher the quality of the lead, the more expensive it should be. And that’s just natural. So for those of you guys who are looking to advertise on a platform and where the leads aren’t of the best quality, sure, it’s going to be cheaper, but again you’re sacrificing quality for that cost.

So let’s use Facebook, for example. People who contact you from Facebook are generally just casually scrolling through their timeline. And if they happen to see something that catches their attention, boom, they’ll go ahead and contact you. Whereas on Google, you find people that are actually looking for you online. So the intent behind the search is that I have a roofing problem and I’m looking for a roofing contractor to come out and give me an estimate.

So the difference between the two platforms, one, sure, the leads themselves. There is much higher quality but it’s gonna cost you a bit more as well versus lower quality here on Facebook but it’s gonna cost you, you know, a bit less. So if you wanna see a full comparison between the two platforms, be sure to check out this video. I recorded this a while ago, so, and it’s going to break down why I prefer one platform over the other be sure to check it out, the link is right there.

3. Knowledge in online roof marketing

Another factor to consider is if you hire someone who does not know what they’re doing online, it’s probably gonna cost you more. For your sake, you wanna make sure you know at least a little bit about these online advertising platforms so you can get a grasp on if somebody’s doing the right things or the wrong thing.

So what I want you to do right now is hit that like button and subscribe to this channel so that you get a better understanding of this online platform. And as a roofer, have a better grasp on what is going on online, what you’re doing right, and what you’re doing wrong. So again, subscribe, hit the notification bell.

4. Optimization process

Another factor that you want to consider is the optimization process. Now here’s what that means. If you hire someone or you try to do it yourself, right, you try to advertise and promote your own company online, is you need to consider how much time and effort you are going to put into these advertising campaigns.

Now much like, you know, anything else, that is very much rewarding. You need to put in some form of effort, some type of work.

So there is an optimization process that should be done with your online platforms whether it be daily, weekly, monthly, you need to put in the time into these platforms. So whoever you do decide to pick to carry out the work online, to promote your business, needs to be optimizing these campaigns regularly. And this is gonna go to affect your overall cost.

At the very beginning of you starting these campaigns, you’re gonna pay a little bit more, generally speaking. And the idea is to have that cost go down over time due to your optimization. Now you need to have someone competent enough to go ahead and do that.

Otherwise, it could actually cost you more over time if you have nobody looking after your online presence whatsoever. Understand that campaigns can get stale very fast. And so you need to have someone good on your team managing these campaigns for you.

So hopefully those three things are now, you know, kind of floating in your mind so that you can kind of try to figure out how much it’s actually going to cost you to advertise your business and promote your company online.
