The go-to social media channel for businesses. If you are a roofing company that only does commercial and you have not yet utilized LinkedIn to generate more business for your business, then this video is gonna be especially for you. I’m gonna fill you in as to what I know works in order for you to generate more business from social media and a platform like LinkedIn. Let’s dive right in.

So first off, why should you listen to me? Over the past six, seven years, I’ve been helping roofing companies–just roofing companies, not your local bakery or your local pizza shop–get online and start producing leads. Roofing on LinkedIn
So, LinkedIn, let’s talk about it. Why is LinkedIn so underutilized? Not many roofing companies utilize LinkedIn, let alone online, the online platform. Not many roofing companies utilize the online platform. So, LinkedIn is even rarer that you’ll find any commercial roofing company utilizing the platform to generate leads. And so, this is an opportunity for those of you who are wanting to go above and beyond as far as generating business.
So, why do people not use LinkedIn? Because plainly put, most people don’t know how. They don’t know what to do with the platform, they just know it’s a business site. They get online, they look professional, and that’s about it. Whereas, it can be utilized to generate leads.
I’ve done it before. Not too many people want to use LinkedIn because they don’t believe in the platform itself, but I’m gonna give you a few tips that are gonna help you stand out from the crowd and enable you to get in front of your ideal customers so that you’re able to generate some leads. So, here’s what you can do.
1. Redo your profile
Number one, what you need to do immediately is pause this video and head over to your LinkedIn profile and just take a look at: What about your profile says that you guys do commercial roofing? What about your profile says that you are better than your competitors? What about your profile says what types of commercial roofs that you do? Right?
So, when you go to your profile, you should be able to say, this is how you can help, right? Start thinking about what people see when they go to your profile and why they should choose to contact you. That’s gonna be the very first step, just redoing your entire profile altogether.
You have so many different pieces of real estate on your profile that you can use to stand out from the crowd. Talk about why people should be using your company above any other company. And so, take a look at this profile. You can clearly see that there’s a nice banner image, and it talks about why this person is the best person to help your company out if you need some commercial roofing services.
So that’s gonna be the very first thing that you do. Fix your profile so that somebody can clearly tell what you do, what your company has to offer, benefits of working with your company, and how to contact you, right?
These are all different things that you can set up in place with your LinkedIn profile so that you’re able to start generating more leads.
2. Create a roofing company profile
Next, you’re gonna wanna create a business profile for your roofing company, and you can tie that directly to your personal profile. So on your business profile, you can list how many employees you have, your website, services you offer, et cetera, et cetera. So there’s so many different things that you can utilize.
It is absolutely free for you to create a company page. And so if you haven’t done so already, be sure to create one. It’s very straightforward. Look at this example, for example.
It shows you exactly who the company is. And plus this page has some SEO benefits, some search engine optimization. So it talks to search engines like Google, like Bing, like Yahoo. It’s gonna help you as far as creating an authority for your company, for your brand online. So, it has its benefits as well.
So if you haven’t done so already, be sure to create a company page for your roofing company.
3. Start joining groups
So once you have those two things in place, your company page and you’ve updated your personal profile, what you can now do is start joining groups, right? There are different groups out there, LinkedIn groups specifically, that have people that are asking questions. And what you wanna do is become that authority that’s answering questions, giving people advice on what to do, telling people to reach out to you personally, right?
It’s like sliding into the DMs and just letting them know what you do, what you offer, the services that you offer, the areas that you service. This is the place for you to do so.
Add value to a group and really stand out as someone who knows what they’re talking about, right? And this is the perfect platform for you to do so.
4. Trickle some leads
And lastly, the moment you start to see that you’re actually generating a few leads here and there–and don’t think that this is gonna be life-changing guys, right? Don’t expect 30, 40 leads a month from LinkedIn. It’s probably an unrealistic goal for you to achieve. Start with trickling some leads here and there, right?
Once you start getting some leads organically for free, meaning you’re not paying anything, you can then think about starting LinkedIn ads. That’s another platform, very underutilized. It’s gonna be a lot less expensive than say, Facebook and Google because there’s not much competition in terms of commercial roofing companies.
