And part of those tasks on a day-to-day basis comes with growing the number of leads you’re getting from different sources. And so in this video, that’s exactly what we’re gonna talk about. So let’s dive right in.

What is up, beautiful people? My name is Mats Moy and for the best advice on generating roofing leads online, you’ve come to the right place. So be sure to subscribe to the channel, make sure you like this video because that is all we talk about here.

Breaking down success into simple habits

Now, it’s been quite a few, I’d say months even since my last video. And there’s so much that has gone on. We’ve got a new office space. I’ve moved out of my old house. There have just been so many things. The business has been growing and I’ve seen a lot of people in other comments, “Where are the new YouTube videos?” I’ve had people DM me, “Where are the new YouTube videos? What’s going on?” And so we are finally back. I know, I missed you guys too. And so let’s not waste any time. Let’s dive right into this week’s video.

So again, for those of you guys who are joining in for the very first time, what I would like for you to do is to hit that Subscribe button because this is all we do here. We talked about generating roofing leads online. And if you are not yet producing leads online, then I highly recommend you hit that button. I will share a new training program with you to help you guys out generate leads and get started online.

So, by the end of this video, you will know a few daily habits that are gonna help you with your roof marketing and help you generate roofing leads online.

1. Get comfortable with technology

So, daily habit number one, now in the roofing industry, I’ve paid attention to quite a bit. And one thing that many roofers lack is really getting comfortable with tools like this, right? Getting comfortable with technology. And when I say comfortable, I mean just getting into the habit of utilizing these devices.

Technology can really make your life so much easier, technology and systems. If you are not yet utilizing systems to make your life easier, I get the growing pains. The growing pains are they’re, like, I don’t wanna deal with technology. I’m not good with it, but listen, if you’re trying to grow your business and generate more leads, I need you to get comfortable with technology.

You don’t have to become an expert by any means, but you need to understand that without technology, without systems, your life is going to be so much more difficult. And so taking a step back and really understanding that with systems and technology and becoming focused on content, you are going to attract a lot more attention because that’s what you ultimately need to get those leads.

Start documenting your work

You need more attention. So rather than going to job sites or getting up on the roof and no banging out the hammer and the nails and the shingles and whatnot, you need to start documenting your work. You need to start creating content. And that comes in the form of taking photographs and you can do that from right here. That comes from making videos or recording videos, and again, right here.

With those two things, you can now start to populate the internet with your presence. People can start to know about you, right? That’s the first thing you need to have content to use online.

Now, you don’t have to spend a crazy amount of money to get the content out there. The first step simply is to start documenting your work. For those of you guys who are subcontractors out there, start documenting your work. Sure, you’re a subcontractor to another contractor, but that doesn’t prevent you from taking photographs of your work. So start taking pictures, start making videos. You need to always be looking for opportunities to create content for your audience. Make people get to know you, right?

Put a face to the business

Wouldn’t it be so much easier if the person’s door you were knocking on knew exactly who you were before you even got there, right? Let’s assume that you are visible online. You have a really good online presence and people have seen you everywhere.

It’s nice to put a face to the business. It’s nice to put a face to the company. So that way, when you do finally end up in front of your ideal customer’s doorstep, they know exactly who you are. They feel as though they already know, right? And that’s the power of putting out content regularly so that people can get to know you a little bit better. So when that time does come to the sale, it makes it that much more easier.

Document your processes

So some of you guys may be thinking, “Okay, maybe I should just whip up the smartphone, just take pictures and videos. What else can I take pictures of?” Like, there’s only so many roofs that you can take pictures of, sure. But you can also start documenting your processes, how you guys set up a job, right? How you guys clean up after a job, right? How you guys nail your shingles, right?

Start taking little videos of processes. ‘Cause some people are genuinely curious to see if you’re doing things the right way because that goes a long way.

So at the end of the day, guys, I need you to start becoming content-focused and thinking long-term. I get that right now may not be the time for you to spend money on advertising. But when that time comes and chances are, it’s probably nearby if you’re watching this video.

While we’re on the topic of watching the video, please hit the like button if you’re enjoying what I’m saying so far. It really helps me out with the algorithm. So go ahead and smash that like button and subscribe to the channel if you have not yet already.

2. Have someone on standby

Daily habit number two. Now, this habit really kicks in when the phone really starts to ring. This is going from not ringing at all to starting to ring. I’ve dealt with, worked with, consulted with roofers who typically fall into this dilemma where they can’t always answer the phone. And now if you’ve been on this channel for a while you’ve may have heard me mention this quite a few times.

One of our clients once upon a time through his growing pains… Right? And I’m here for it. Growing pains are a real thing. Understanding that something hurts so much but you just have to power through it so that you can get over to the other side and make your life that much easier.

Avoid missing calls

One of our clients, Zak, I know him to be notorious for missing phone calls. He gets lots of leads. If you haven’t already, check out this interview here, how many calls Zak is getting, how he went through that growing pain to get to a point where he’s getting six, 10 phone calls a day from his local neighborhood. Be sure to check it out. The link is somewhere here.

Missed calls, so many. So I have a call log, so I can see how many phone calls Zak gets a day and many of them are missed. And that’s because he was busy on a day-to-day. He was at the job sites managing jobs, speaking with customers. But missed calls are a huge number.

Now, granted, he still made it a habit of giving the call back so that just in case you miss a call, you call someone back. But that initial missed call is so painful. And I can tell you about my experience when I tried to hire a local roofing contractor years ago, it’s damn near impossible to get a roofer on the phone because they don’t have anybody on standby picking up the phone.

So that’s your tip number two, have someone on standby.

Be 100% responsive

Even if you’re gonna pay them hourly or pay them for every phone call that comes in. I don’t know how you wanna structure it, but you need to have someone that’s going to be 100% responsive because that little time gap can make all the difference for you.

That missed phone call that went to another roofing contractor who was responsive can end up another $10,000 out of your pocket. So make sure you have someone on standby.

Google Local Service Ads

And for those of you guys who are not yet utilizing Google Local Service Ads, please comment down below “GLSA.” I will send you a free guide to help you get set up on Google Local Service Ads.

And the reason I bring this up is that response time on that platform is a factor. I know many roofing contractors utilizing the Google Local Service Ads platform and they miss calls. By you missing calls, you’re reducing your rankings. So be sure to answer.

If you’re gonna use the platform–it’s a beautiful platform, by the way–it’s a pay-per-lead, not pay-per-click. You’re spending like 30, $50 per lead directly from Google. So be sure to sign up, comment GLSA down below, I’ll send you my free guide, and show you how to get it set up.

3. Generate reviews

Daily roof marketing habit number three: generating reviews. As simple as this is, guys, many of you fail to do so because you do not yet understand the power of reviews and how much it’s going to impact you and impact your business.

So, it’s more than just having people see the review because reviews help, they always do. If you haven’t already, check out some of our testimonials from some of our awesome clients because reviews definitely go a long way but specifically for local businesses. So you guys utilizing Google to generate leads, this platform will actually help you rank higher based on the number of reviews that you have.

Load your reviews with keywords

Now, I’m gonna go even further. It’s not enough to just get five-star reviews. What you do wanna get is an actual well-written review with tons of rich keywords in there. So something as simple as mentioning the service that was carried out for the customer, right? And obviously, the customer has to write this stuff but you can dictate what you want that customer to say because you’re gonna be relentless in getting that review.

The follow-up process has to be there. You can’t just ask one time and then, oh, the customer didn’t leave the review, forget about it. That review could be potentially worth $100,000 for your company. And so I need you to be relentless in generating that review because it’s going to increase your visibility overall within your local market.

I guarantee you the top roofing company online in your area has a process to generate those reviews and understand its importance. So if you’re tired of being small-time or if you’re just simply wanting to get more leads, I need you to understand that reviews go such a long way.

So, get those reviews, use rich keywords in there. Mention the service that was carried out, mention the area in which it was carried out because those things play a role in where you’re going to rank in the search rankings for Google My Business. So be sure to get those done.
