Effectively plan your marketing in 2021

Now over the last six years, all that I’ve been doing is helping roofing contractors just like you get online and start producing leads. So let’s just say I know a thing or two about getting quality leads online. This year, in 2021, I want to help you create an effective marketing plan and get your business online and start producing those leads for your company.

So listen up, throughout this video, I’m gonna mention this, this one phrase, several times throughout the video because I want it to stick: To get quality roofing leads, you need quality traffic.

So let’s keep it plain and simple. To get more this year, 2021, you’re going to have to do one of three things.

1. You can do more of the same

One, you can do more of the same. Now, if you’ve been doing the same thing for the past two, three, four, five years and you’re not getting more in return, in terms of revenue profits, then it’s time to reevaluate the strategy. Because more of the same this year is not gonna produce more if it wasn’t producing more for the past two, three, four, five years.

So for example, door-to-door. If door-to-door didn’t work for you last year or the year before what makes you think it’s going to work this year? Unless you’re approaching this with a completely new strategy then expect more of the same.

2. Try something different

Two, you can try something different. There are so many different options for you to start producing leads, right. It can be as simple as getting online. Putting out mailers. Going out door-to-door. Something different than what you’ve been doing the previous years.

So if you’ve been solely relying on word of mouth, referrals, then maybe it’s time you pick up an active strategy to drum up more business for your company. And this may require you to step out of your comfort zone, right.

If you want more, then you’re going to have to do something different, that is one of the ways for you to get more out of whatever it is that you’re looking at accomplishing.

3. Stop doing what’s not working for you

And lastly, stop doing what’s not working for you. Right, if you are consistently purchasing leads from lead generation companies and the quality of those leads are just poor, what makes you think it’s gonna be any different next year?

Stop doing what’s not working and focus on what is working. To get quality roofing leads, you need quality traffic.

So on that topic, there are a few questions you need to ask yourself in order for you to determine what is working versus what isn’t working.


Many roofing companies have failed to adapt to today’s means of really anything. So are you tracking the results that you’re getting? At the bare minimum when someone calls you, do you typically ask, how did you find me?

Now there are tons of easier ways to track this information with technology. However, if you are not online then it’s likely that you’re not tracking anything using technology.

So, analytics, right, getting the right tags set up on your website, the right analytics on your website, right. Call tracking, right, are you recording the phone calls themselves, right? Do you see what people are typing in to find your company online, right? Even mailers, if you’re sending out mailers in the mail, how do you know that phone call itself came from that mailer? Are you using the tracking number for the mailer?

You need to start tracking the marketing campaigns. You can’t just start throwing stuff out there without any measurable data.

Call your past customers

So quick little thing that you can do over these you know, slower months, is to call the past couple customers that you have, you know, done a roof for in the past, I don’t know, two, three months and ask them how did you find me? How did you come across my stuff?

If the answer is, “Oh, you know, so-and-so referred me to you”, if that’s what you’re getting the majority of as an answer then we need a strategy to drum up new business, right?

If you want to grow in scale, you need to get the response of, “Oh, I found you online”, “Oh, I found you in the phone book”, or “I saw a billboard”. Something to actively get new customers.

You need a means of marketing your business

Don’t just sit back and wait for people to spread the word about your company. That’s not an effective way to grow the business, and don’t get me wrong there’s nothing better than word of mouth and referrals. That’s an easy close, it’s an easy sale.

But if you’re looking to actively grow the company you need a means of marketing your business, getting your name out there, and ultimately attracting qualified leads and customers calling you each and every single day. And you’re on this YouTube channel so you already know that it’s all about online roofing leads. And leads online are trending, a lot more companies are shifting to the online means of doing things.

Like look, you’re here, on the YouTube channel. You are online and looking for ways to help your business grow online. Let’s believe that your customers are also online.

Quality traffic = quality roofing leads

To get quality roofing leads, you need quality traffic.

So three pieces of code that you need to set up right now so you’re able to track exactly what’s happening on your website, where people are coming from, how people found you.

One you’re gonna want to set up your Google Analytics code. Two you’re gonna want to set up your Facebook Pixel on your website. And three, you’re gonna want to set up heat map tracking. And I use Hotjar for this.

Those three companies, I’m going to link down below in the description so you’re able to go ahead and set those things up because they are essential. They are absolutely necessary for anyone that’s looking to do anything online because now you make data-based decisions. There’s no more guesswork or going off a hunch, you know exactly what needs to be done because you know where people are coming from, what pages they’re spending the most time on.

So get those set-up immediately. Hire someone to do it for you, just get it done.

Generate leads for the short-term and long-term
