Let me start off by saying word-of-mouth has, will, and forever will be the best form of marketing in the world. Now, with that being said, there are a few reasons why word-of-mouth may not be good enough for your company anymore. And that’s exactly what we’re gonna dive in and talk about. Let’s get right to it.

Whew, glad I got that off my chest. With that being said, word-of-mouth is trash, and here’s why. No, I’m just kidding, it’s not trash, but it’s not good enough for your company anymore, hence why you are here.

Could your word-of-mouth no longer be enough?

With that being said, there are reasons as to why word-of-mouth is no longer good enough, hence why you are here. Some of you guys are tired of relying on word-of-mouth. And I wanna explain to you why it may not, some of the reasons why it may not be good enough for your company anymore.

1. Your company is growing

So reason number one, your company is growing, plain and simple. It’s growing and it’s getting to the point where you have more employees, you have more sales reps, and so you need to feed them more leads. And let me tell you that you’re not gonna get that from just word-of-mouth.

Word-of-mouth can only take you so far. So if you are at a stage where you’re getting lots of referrals, lots of word of mouth, but it’s still not enough, and you’re just looking to get your feet wet, shameless plug coming in, we have a program specifically for people like you. It is a low-cost, entry-level program called GMB for Roofers. There’s a link down below. Go ahead and click on it, check it out, and see if it’s right for you. It’s gonna help you get online and get started in producing roofing leads from your local area.

2. You are only getting leads from specific areas

Reason number two, word of mouth isn’t good enough if you are only getting leads from specific areas. What if a storm happens and you wanna get leads from that area there, but you just have to sit back and wait for someone in that area to mention your name or, you know, talk about your company. No, and that’s why word-of-mouth is not enough.

You need an effective way to get in that neighborhood and start getting in front of those homeowners so you can start helping out, getting revenue, and being, you know, the company that you always dreamed you would be.

Now, some of you guys may be saying, you know, “Why not just go to the neighborhoods and start knocking on doors?” Well, that is an effective strategy, not as effective as the digital stuff. But, however, some areas don’t allow for you to do that, right? So how do you get in front of those homeowners, right?

You need an effective way of getting online and getting in front of those people. It may not be online, but you need an effective strategy of getting in front of the homeowners in particular areas that maybe have laws don’t allow you to go out and start knocking on doors.

3. Time is a factor

And reason number three as to why word-of-mouth may not be enough is because time is a factor, right? If you’re looking to achieve a specific goal, word-of-mouth, you have no control over word-of-mouth. It’s literally the word out of somebody else’s mouth, right? You don’t control that individual. And so, if time is a factor, it may take you years before you get into a specific goal. But by your advertising or marketing in some way, shape, or form, you can reduce that time period.

And again, I’m only speaking to those of you guys who actually want to speed up that process. For those of you guys who don’t and are happy with the way things are currently going, then fine, by all means, keep doing what you’re doing. But chances are if you’re watching this video, it is very likely that you are wanting to keep growing and scaling your company as fast as possible and as effective, as efficient, as possible as well. All that to say, word-of-mouth is not, I repeat it is not, I repeat one more time, it is not a marketing strategy.
